Labour mobility: an emerging trend of intra-EU workforce migration to Central and Eastern European countries from the Western member states

1 Abstract Intra-EU labour mobility is perceived as one of the key advantages of the European common market. Most research thus far has focused on East-West flows of the workforce, whilst the reverse course remained almost unseen. Thus, this thesis aimed to evaluate the migrating workforce from EU-15 to CEE, which was demonstrated in the example of the Czech Republic. With the testing of Wallerstein's world-system theory and the push and pull migration factors, the thesis examined employment features of the EU-15 nationals, their labour mobility drivers, and the concept of Prague as a global city. The empirical data were gathered from EU databases of intra-EU mobility, Czech national statistics, and a structured survey of EU-15 nationals residing in the Czech Republic. The survey gathered 177 answers with results of a confidence level of 95% that the actual value is within 10% of the measured value. The research outcomes were then used for elaborating on the core-periphery dynamics and the West-East dichotomy. Overall, the findings suggest that this trend is emerging as the number of EU-15 nationals in the Czech Republic has risen by 212,13% since 1994. A Common European Energy Policy: Perspectives and Limits of Cooperation

A Common European Energy Policy: Perspectives and Limits of Cooperation ABSTRACT (Jiří Kupka) The aim of the work is to assess the prospects and limits of cooperation in the area of European Union Energy Policy and it primarily from the perspective of the Member States. To this purpose, there is a research of an evolution of integration in the energy field (pointed contemporary development - i.e. mainly the last twelve years), approach of the European Commission and in particular there are attitudes and the energy policies of the two EU Member States - France and Germany. The whole work is divided into two main parts - a theoretical section and an empirical analysis. In the first part, the author seeks to define the terms "Energy security" and "Energy Policy" from the perspective of several authors. Subsequently, it is carried out the examination of the development of Energy policy of EU - the European Commission initiatives are researched in particular. Besides, it is examined and evaluated the current status of the implementation of the Union's actions (policy) - especially in area of the individual systems of energy markets of the aforementioned states.
Celní odbory a jejich dopad na obchod

This paper concentrates on customs unions and their impact on trade. We have chosen two trading blocs that we believe are interesting cases: MERCOSUR and EU. Throughout the thesis, we will look more closely into how those customs unions were created and on what objectives were they based upon. Furthermore, to understand more precisely the complexity of those trading blocs, we will talk about their historical development and economical situation. As well as their attitudes towards international trade. For the latter, we will look into each trading blocs trade policies, institutions and presence in international trade. In order to understand better the differencies in trading blocs, a comaprison of those two will be later on discussed together with their impacts.

Realization of the EU Internal Market

The aim of the work is to explain integration activities in the western Europe, describe steps heading to creation of a Common Market and then an Internal Market being the core part of the European economic integration. The work deals with realization of the EU Internal Market after 1993 according to official documents of the EU that can be divided into separate complex strategies of the EU, strategies and action plans for the Internal Market and the reports evaluating the success made and remaining imperfections. Consequently, the work assesses the current situation in the Internal Market and analyses its objectives according to published EU documents.

Zkoumá jaké dopady bude mít reforma na spotřebitele a výrobce a jakým směrem bude orientován trh s vínem v Evropské unii a v České republice. V diplomové práci je popsána současná situace vinařství v Evropské unii a v České republice. Podrobněji je popsána navrhovaná reforma společné organizace trhu s vínem a postavení České republiky a jiných států Evropské unie k navrhované reformě.
Regionální integrace v Latinské Americe a Karibské oblasti a její institucionální aspekty

Cílem práce je podat ucelený obraz o nejdůležitějších integračních tendencích včetně souvisejících institucionálních aspektů v Latinské Americe a Karibské oblasti. Práce chce zejména přiblížit vývoj regionálních integračních uskupení a analyzovat cíle jejich činnosti a dosažené výsledky. Hlavní důraz je přitom kladen na dvě nejvýznamnější uskupení Jižní Ameriky - Společný trh Jihu a Andské společenství a dvě středoamerická uskupení - Karibské společenství a Středoamerický společný trh. Mezi pozoruhodné tendence regionální integrace v Latinské Americe patří v současnosti také zintenzivněné úsilí o celoregionální spolupráci. V práci není zapomenuto ani na důležitý aspekt, jímž je spolupráce Latinské Ameriky a Karibiku s Evropskou unií.
